NEW 'NEW MOON' POSTERS? Let's Discuss!

THE WOLF PACK

OK.... I love me some Edward, but let's face it -- New Moon is ALL about Jacob and the introduction of the Wolf Pack.  Heart be still.... I can't wait to see these guys in action!  We've seen a similar picture of the guys before, except here they're fully clothed (BOO!).  And the pack members seem to be posed differently.  Note Paul taking a cocky stance in this one.  LOVE IT! Alex Meraz will be stealing my heart come November, by the way....

THE VOLTURRI

I soooo LOVE this picture of the Volturri! Not feeling Alec's pose though.  Think he should've taken a dead on stance like the rest of them -would've looked way more sinister.  The folded arms just makes him seem like a punk like Paul!  haha  Either way, love the poster as a whole! :-0

BELLA AND THE CULLENS

Ahhhh.....Edward!  I love him, but his look here reminds me an enhanced and updated version of the Twilight poster.  I don't know why I'm just not feeling his look here?  Maybe it's his creepy hand on Bella's back? Hmmm. Bella actually looks good here, but her pose is a bit too Harlequin Romance for me.  I think I'm biased 'cause NM is pro-Jacob which is why I think I love the love triangle poster the best.  As for the Cullens, they all look great except for my Jasper. WTH?  We know he's after Bella and is supposed to look angry, but did they have to make him look like a creepy psychopath?  Booooo!!!!

What do you think?  Do tell....

"TWILIGHT: The TV Series"

That's the title I've dubbed the CW's 'The Vampire Diaries'.  I have to admit that for TV, it was watchable and managed to hold my attention for an hour.  But whether I remain a faithful follower still remains to be seen.  Am I jonesing for it? Hell Naw!  I'm sure that coming out post-Twilight may be a good and bad thing for them, but I couldn't stop giggling to myself with all the similarities. So without further delay, I bring you my list of comparisons:

  • THE EDWARD FACTOR:  Okay, duh.... no one can fill in Edward Cullen's shoes, but Paul Wesley does the brooding, mysterious Stefan well enough to keep me watching.  If I could be picky, I'd say his jaw is too square for me.  But that's just me.
  • THE UNTOUCHABLE:  Much like Edward, Stefan is also the hottest guy in the school that every girl wants, but is completely obsessed with the homely sweet girl with a heart of gold.
  • THE STALKER FACTOR:  Much like Edward, Stefan can't seem to stop following Elena and mysteriously pops up everywhere.
  • THE HOT SIBLING:  Uncontrollable vampire brother who happens to be a hottie? CHECK! As Stefan's brother, Damon, Ian Somerhalder does his thing, but I find it distracting that he looks so much like Chace Crawford.  Where does the CW find these cloned creatures?!!!!
  • THE BELLA FACTOR:  Sweet, petite brunette who is extremely vulnerable and dealing with parental issues (Bella, divorced parents -- Elena, parents killed in car crash).
  • THE PROMO POSTER:  I'm sorry.... the possibilities are endless as far as promoting this show, yet you go with the three main stars laying down in a meadow? Hel-looo!!
  • THE BFF FACTOR:  Much like Bella, Elena has one friend who genuinely cares for her and one who is completely self-absorbed! :-0
  • THE JACOB FACTOR:  Naturally, Elena's ex, Matt, is still in love with her.
  • THE GLAMOUR FACTOR:  Although Edward charmed the pants off the school faculty in the books, he was unsuccessful in transferring out of biology class.  Stefan, however, was able to glamour his way through his fake school enrollment! :-0
  • THE KNOCKOFF TWI-SCENE:  In mid-conversation, Elena notices Stefan's eyes changing color and asks "Are you okay?  Your eyes look different".  heehee

Don't get me wrong... I'm not calling TVD a ripoff by any means, but you've just gotta laugh.  I will say that if next week's episode shows Elena riding in a beat up pickup, jumping off a cliff, or rushing off to Italy for any reason, I am OUTTA HERE!!!!!

THE NON-KILLER FILLER! :(

That's what I've dubbed last night's episode of True Blood:  "the Filler Episode".  Completely uneventful and horribly acted.  I'm hoping that the lack of excitement in this week's episode is due to the fact that they had to save up for the kick ass finale.

I haven't even had my usual second viewing of the show yet.  Just not motivated.  And I don't even recall hearing anything worthy of my 'fave quotes' section.  BOO!!!!!!!

If I had to absolutely pick a favorite, I'd have to say Bill calling Eric out on the V dealing was my favorite scene.  Just 'cause I love any confrontation between these two, and I just love that Bill has a (small) hold over Eric now.  Not that it's going to stop him from pursuing his lady, but still.

A big let down for me was the Queen.  I was all hyped to see the epitome of vampire royalty and she turns out to be..... CORNY?  Not sure, but I think it was Evan Rachel Wood's bad acting that annoyed me.  She seemed to be trying too hard to convince us that she was a bad ass.  Her lines didn't flow well.   In other words, it didn't seem to come naturally to her.  I've never seen any of her previous work, but maybe she was miscast here. Which is a shame, 'cause I love her look.  She seemed to pull off the spunky aspect of her character, but I didn't buy her conniving/evil side.  And that's the side that counts here. She didn't pull it off in the same way as say Eric pulls off his 'the-whole-world-evolves-around-me-that-I -could-give-a-shit-about-everyone-else' attitude.  I mean, the Queen is supposed to be revered and feared, yet she wasn't even slightly intimidating to me.  (sigh)

Sadly, the real highlight last night was the finale highlight reel at the end.  Both Sookie AND Maryann dressed in identical white gowns.....Lafayette with the creepy black eyes..... but how will it all go down?  I'm racking my brain trying to figure out who does what!   Grrrrrrr!!!!!!

See you in two weeks.....
